Edwards has surgery in Barcelona
Colin Edwards is undergoing surgery in Barcelona's Dexeus Institute Hospital today after sustaining a broken right collarbone in Catalunya practice on Friday. The Tech 3 Yamaha rider crashed at Turn 5 on an out-lap during the damp second practice session, and will consequently miss a race for the first time in his MotoGP career. Team boss Herve Poncharal said Edwards' injury came as a particular blow because he had been in good form this season and was very optimistic about this weekend's race.
